THE CASTLES CHALLENGE
The Castles Challenge is a triathlon race series that will take place on Saturday 19th August 2017 at Bamburgh Castle in Northumberland. Originally setup in 2009, the series comprises Junior Triathlons, a Sprint Triathlon and also a Middle Distance (Half Iron) Triathlon. The swim, bike and run courses offer stunning scenery linking up some of Northumberland’s finest landmarks.
Lying in the shadow of the mighty Bamburgh Castle, Bamburgh Cricket Club is the headquarters for the Castles Challenge Triathlon Series and serves as the transition area for the races and provides a amazing backdrop for the finish line. The stunning footage below was taken 2 days before the 2012 event. This outstanding footage also shows the swim course, transition and the location of the finish area on the Green next to the castle.
